Publisher Recruitment
Writing a publisher invitation with a clear commercial offer
Write an affiliate publisher invitation with a specific audience reason, clear commercial terms and appropriate Australian outreach checks.
A useful invitation tells a publisher why its particular readers may benefit, what it could promote and how payment would work. Put the main decision-making terms in the message and make the full programme terms available before acceptance. “Competitive commission” leaves the important question unanswered.
Gather the offer first
Confirm the eligible products and actions, commission basis and rate, referral window, exclusions, order review and payment timing. Describe any placement fee or product sample separately from commission. Identify methods needing permission. Promise only terms and service areas your business has approved.
Awin’s invitation flow supports a personal message and commission-rate selection. impact.com offers marketplace and direct routes with different application and acceptance steps; a direct proposal can enrol a partner when accepted. Check what the recipient will actually see in your account and make the full terms accessible.
Key commercial offer elements to include
- Commission rate
- [Approved rate] per eligible action
- Eligible actions
- Sales, sign-ups, form submissions
- Payment timing
- Monthly, after order review
Give a specific reason to talk
Name a page, series or channel and the reader question it addresses. Explain the product’s possible role in a sentence. Ask whether that format interests the publisher and what facts or access it needs to assess the product independently. A specific observation is more useful than claiming its audience is “perfect” without evidence.
Draft the invitation
The sample below leaves commercial values and business details open because they depend on the actual programme. Use it only through an outreach route for which you have a valid basis.
Subject: Partnership idea for [publisher property]
Hi [name],
Your [specific page or channel] helps readers [specific decision]. We offer [product and relevant use] to customers in [confirmed service area]. Would you consider [proposed format] if it suits your editorial plans?
Our offer is [approved commission rate and calculation basis] for [eligible action and products], with a [approved referral window]. [State material exclusions and order review.] The full terms explain permitted promotion, attribution, reversals and payment timing and are available at [accessible terms location].
I can provide [specific product facts or access]. You would make your own assessment. What would you need to evaluate the idea?
[Sender name, business and contact details]
[Working unsubscribe method, if this is a covered commercial electronic message]
Before sending, check that your outreach approach complies with the applicable spam rules.
Check before sending
Can the publisher tell what it might publish, what earns commission, when payment may follow and which terms it would accept? Confirm that the product is available to the intended customers. Remove unsupported performance claims and requests for a guaranteed positive verdict. Public promotional claims should be accurate, and paid or gifted endorsements should not be presented as independent when that would mislead consumers.
If the publisher asks for a different placement or rate, put the agreed change in the actual proposal or agreement before acceptance.
